PROBLEMS WITH MENS FASHION WEEK IN NEW YORK

While many of us are thrilled that the CFDA has created a fashion week that will solely focus on menswear, that doesn't mean that that the organization process is running as smooth as they would like. Scheduled to take place in July(13-16) New York Fashion Week: Men is leaving many people concerned for many different reasons.

Now that the dust of the February shows have settled, many of those working in the industry sees this time as a cooling down period of sorts. Designers went back to designing. Stylists went back to pulling clothes. And PR Agencies began organizing press day events. But with a new show now looming over the industry's head, many are questioning time, and money.

People from far and wide come to New Yorks highly anticipated seasonal shows.  Travel involves spending money. Money that the International press doesn't intend on spending themselves. Naturally, sponsorship will be needed.

Potential sponsors don't immediately open their wallets, and with July only a few months away, we imagine a lot of panicking has been taking place.

In a better note, the CFDA have managed to accomplish several tasks as well. Though a brand ambassador hasn't been named, logos have already been previewed. Another exciting tid bit of information traveling around are a few names that will be participating. And while participating is one thing, an actual runway show is another. So with
John Varvatos, Robert Geller, Public School, Billy Reid, Todd Snyder, Duckie Brown, and Patrik Ervell, we will have to wait and see who is doing what.
