BLAKE HYLAND Spring/Summer 17

Although born in Australia, and now living in Canada, the current state of the United States political affairs has designer Blake Hyland taking notice. And many others to say the least. For his Spring/Summer 2017 collection, Hyland showed his discontent with not so subtle messages that he incorporated in some of the pieces. Images of Republican and Democratic nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were seen on tshirts with the phrases and words Erase the Disgrace, and Reallies. Wont Stand for Anything and Equality could be seen on others.

His color palette somewhat minimal consisted of grey, black, white, and splashes of red were sent down the runway on models who wore clothing that could easily be categorized as gender fluid.
