Dries Van Noten Steps Down
After four decades of supplying the world with fabulous designs a member of our beloved Antwerp 6 has decided to step down from his namesake label. That's right guys, Dries Van Noten has made the decision to pass on the torch for a new generation.
The Belgian designer has always given thanks to numerous supportive people for his success. Launching his brand in 1986, Van Noten started off only designing menswear. He would go on to debut his first menswear collection at Paris Fashion Week in 1991. Two years later, in 1993 would mark his women's wear premiere at PFW.
Van Noten's unique approach to fashion has garnered him with some very prestigious awards. In 2008, the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) honored him with the International Award. In 2016, Van Noten won the Culture Award of the Province of Antwerp; and most recently, the celebrated fashion figure would receive the 2023 WWD Honor for Designer of the Year.
While the house hasn't named its successor, Van Noten informs his heart broken fans and supporters that the SS25 women's collection will be made by the studio team.
"In due time, we will announce the designer who will continue the story. However, I will stay involved in the house that I treasure so much."
